Lacrosse

I’ve been scanning some old — very old — pics from when I was a kid. They didn’t have digital cameras back then! Anyway, I found a bunch of lacrosse images. This was my second favorite sport. Water skiing came in first and hockey was third. I’m the guy in yellow. Center midfield. Center middy, we used to say. I’m probably 16 or 17 or something here. Although I generally liked lacrosse, which is pretty similar to hockey, my coaches were all lunatics and highly unqualified to field any team at all, let alone a full contact team like lacrosse. Many of us suffered some bad injuries and took a lot of abuse due to their blatant incompetence. But at least in lacrosse the point was speed and flow and scoring — unlike football, where the point was just mindless hitting that only led to injuries. By the way, that shot I took down in the lower left? I hit the pipe. So pissed.
